Plot Outline: A romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous…
Plot: A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9-year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be.
Movie Quotes: Esther: I like it when it's just the two of us. You don't know how long I've waited for a daddy just like you.
John Coleman: Mommy too, right?
Esther: I don't think Mommy likes me very much.
John Coleman: Hey. That's not true, Mommy loves you.
Esther: It's all right. It must be hard to love an adopted child as much as your own.
John Coleman: Sweetheart, you're just as much part of this family as Danny and Max, okay? Why don't you do something nice for Mommy, show her how much you love her?
Esther: That's a wonderful idea.
Goofs: We know about 1 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Factual errors: When Kate is calling John after she finds out who Esther really is the power goes out and the cordless phone at their house also dies. Cordless phones are still able to be used in a power outage as long as they are charged and phone lines are still working.
Trivia: There are 10 entries in the trivia list – like these:
- Warner Bros. edited the film's trailer to remove Esther's line “It must be hard to love an adopted child as much as your own” after receiving numerous complaints from adoptive parents and foster care organizations.
- Shipped to theaters under the code name “Infant Terror”.
- The orphanage researched on the Internet is actually a photo of Alma College located in St. Thomas, Ont. Canada. The building was destroyed by fire in May of 2008.
